Better boil up some ramen! It's gonna be a long night..
I used to be so gaga about anime when I was younger. I was in love with shows like Tenchi Muyo, Slayers and a few others. I loved the dynamic animation, the original character designs and the neat stories. I drew in anime styles all the time with my friends and watched it whenever I could. I was captivated.
Then, it got popular.
And like every cultural phenomenon, I started seeing the influences everywhere. They began airing more anime shows on tv, other kids started talking about it and a big interest in Japanese culture arose.
While I grew out of it, looking back at the thing I once loved, I realize how downhill it has gone.
I just hate what anime has become. I hate what all of the fucking pocky-sucking nerds have done to what used to be a pretty cool thing. The geeks are never satisfied and always want more. Now, they seem to be cranking out hundreds of assembly line animes every year just seeing which one will hit. These animes are boring, flat and rely entirely on gimmicks. It's disgusting. Anime is supposed to be an art, but now it only exists to make money.
I'm really tired. What set me off was reading about that stupid Nick Simmons fiasco and all I could think was "Bleach isn't even good. It's just another cardboard anime created to sell merchandise". And how so many people try to act so self-righteous about what Simmons did when that shit is happening everyday in the world of anime. That Tite Kubo person probably swiped from several other animes to create his precious "Bleach". He's just not so obvious about it.
